Two years ago there was an incredible buzz around the Formula racing scene. Since windsurfing was reinstated into the Olympics the buzz has died down and hyrdro-foil racing – all fast, effortless and with more sass and fluidity – has stepped in to take over the kite racing scene. However, as we found out at the recent World Championships at Hangloose Beach in Italy, there’s still a super talented core of young racers who love the raw, gloves-off racing that the equipment levelling scene of Formula offers. We go behind the scenes to give you the inside track of whether Formula is about to die at the hands of the rapid growth of foiling popularity.
