The ‘Tomo’ has been making waves in the surfing world thanks to its ultra-efficient planing hull that allows for all the benefits of a shortboard in terms of handling, with none of the drawbacks in terms of difficult paddling. Kiteboard companies have taken to utilising the parallel rails and squarer noses and tails that the design also features – so we asked North shaper Sky Solbach what he finds to be the benefits of the shape for kiting – where paddling isn’t an issue.
